Manners matter. Brush up on Basic Manners 101: Saying, "Please," "Thank you," "Excuse me," and "I'm sorry," opening doors, being respectful (no yelling or name calling), standing up when a lady enters the room and waiting to sit until after she's seated.

Don't buy into the disempowered "accidental" language of relationships: "We fell in love..." "We grew apart..." "We fell out of love...". Or as someone told me once, "You're so lucky." Lucky my eye! We've worked our butts off for this relationship. Be purposeful and proactive: GREAT relationships don't "just happen" — they are created.
